Castle Wine Cellars

Two hearts, a wine cellar and two wines. Barolo and Barbaresco, the two vinic gems of the Langhe area, live side by side in the vineyards and wine cellars of the  Verduno Castle. A couple of wines, a living couple. Gabriella Burlotto and Franco Bianco. The latter, a producer of Barbaresco for four generations; the former the heiress to the history of Barolo. Verduno Castle, with the vineyards planted at the behest of Carlo Alberto in 1838 in order to produce this prestigious wine, has been managed by the Burlotto family since the early 1900s.

 

Today, Franco and Gabriella continue to produce wine in the traditional way, with fermentation in an open vat and a lengthy refining process in large durmast casks. You will rediscover the patience and care with which they treat each piece of fruit in every drop of their wines. 

 

When visiting the castle wine cellars you will gain insight into the history of Barolo; you will be fascinated by the huge casks and fall in love with the wine and its secrets.
